Endoscopic transnasal removal of migrated dental implants.Lubbe DE, Aniruth S, Peck T, Liebenberg S Division of Otorhinolaryngology, Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, RSA, 7925. delubbe@kingsley.co.za We report a case of migration of a dental implant into the maxillary sinus and discuss the benefits of endoscopic transnasal removal of such implants. As the sole approach, this technique has rarely been described. The most commonly used technique for retrieval of dental implants is the Caldwell-Luc procedure. This, however, has certain morbidity associated with it and may compromise subsequent implant insertion. Published 28 April 2008 in Br Dent J, 204(8): 435-6.
